I am disheartened by the overt greed and complete lack of conscience exhibited by the executives of bailed out corporations, as well as by many of the legislators who have promoted these bail outs. If these billions of dollars had been spent on road, bridges, green energy and construction, education, and healthcare, just imagine how much better the life of the average American would be! Instead, the average American, after losing half the value of his or her retirement, losing their home and/or job, and calculating the risk of not seeing a doctor or dentist, has helped to fund bloated and undeserved bonuses for executives who drove their companies into the ground, and equity for businesses whose policies and practices would have meant jail for the average American. LET THE FALTERING BUSINESSES FAIL, and let the next generation of entrepreneurs step up to fill in the void, more responsibly!

Please NO MORE BAILOUTS FOR WALL STREET!
Mr. Dent, I will NOT be voting for you on Tuesday!!!! I hope you lose this election Mr. Dent!!
Sincerely, a constituent whose point of view you never consider. Whenever I call your office, your staff is rude and will never inform me of your position on an issue. I am praying for your defeat on Tuesday! I am also asking everyone I know to vote against you.

Maybe some kind of "nationalization", (but one that *punishes the fatcats that got us here*!) or "stakeholder" takeover is just wat's needed here!

When I hear people complain of big government and then support Big international corporate banks, insurance companies and the politicians from the Democratic and republican parties who shamelessly support them, I have to wonder what people are smoking.
I have heard so many people over the years who complain about the corruption in the board rooms of multinational corporations. I have heard more people complain about the corruption in every state and national government agency. Somtimes I think the average american thinks that their greatest freedom is the right to go into any bar or restaurant and complain and then vote for every idiot that gave them something to complain about.

Now, the bailout is under way that will send billions of dollars to reward the men and women of the highest offices in corporate america for their greedy and selfish attempts to control every supposedly free and open market around the world and then these corporate big whigs will let some of these billions trickle down to the politicians that made their sick greed more possible in the form of lobby money and jobs. And I think any man or woman who complains about these actions, who goes out and votes for a republican or democrat are either crazy or hate themselves and their country.

I have heard the majority of people in this nation voice their hatred and distrust of all democrats and republicans at one time or another. I now challenge them to muster the courage to vote for someone not in the democratic or republican party. If everyone who complained about the same old corruption in politics and big business voted for an independent candidate, there would be no way for a Republican or a democrat to win any office. But the american people just don't believe in themselves or the good possibilities of their own nation. They won't vote for who they want to win only who they think will win, because no one wants to lose. but by not having the courage to vote for who you want to win, you get selfish and greedy whose greatest effort ends up making your lives less than what they could be, this in turn puts your childrens lives in the same hands. hasn't this been proven to you yet?

These failures shoild be nationalized and broken apart at the people's will. Their executives should be stripped of all wealth.

When this nation is in such debt, it's time that these greedy pigs dig themselves out of their messes.

Why does congress insist on only listening to the companies failing during this termoil in the market instead of the people (who have come up with better ideas on websites as simple as yahoo answers) and leading economists from prestegious universities? This congress is not for the people, they are for themselves and their corporate buddis. I have never been so disgusted in our government in all my life. For the first time, the government has rallied the people. Sadly, they have rallied them against the government.

I for one am tired of being lied to. The current current contenders are promising two chickens in every pot, it can't be done and we as a people are begining to realize this. I only hope tonights debate will clear up many of the questions we the people have.

There should be a bailout but not from the top down. We've seen how that approach works already. How about sending out checks to those who are actually losing their primary homes rather than bailing the richest folks so they can save that home on Hilton Head or their yacht. Trickle down economics has never worked. I resent my tax dollars going to the wealthy. It seems the only kind of socialism acceptable in this country is corporate socialism.

The working people are fed up with this greed that has and continues to rape, rob and financially devastate us, the working class for the benefit of the rich! STOP THE GREED NOW!!

Well what do you know the bailout has bought us nothing. Since this problem started with people unable to afford their mortgages any bailout should have been directed to them. And strong regulations should have been passed on the financial market.

No more bailouts. We need to have some objective opinions on how to really fix this mess, not some band-aid and we are footing the cost of all this mess. Help us please.

Why in the world would you pass such a bill that is not going to help the people who pay your salaries? There are many more helpful things like jobs, health care, and helping us keep our homes. Keep our jobs here and also not allow immigrants to come here with the help of our own govt. to get free homes, education, and welfare help that they did not contribute to! Its time you start working for us!

Sir,

You let us all down by going with BUSH and without findoing out why

200 economists signed a petition indicating that they do not think we should vote on the $700 billion.

The BUSH Administration always goes to the fear factor, like the Iraq war. It was totally fabricated.

I still did not hear on the guidelines for loans, banks and credit card reform. No more unsolicited credit card applications or loan applications. Make it illegal.

We must have this first. Also the 401k are locked in to not being able to change and day traders and other large investors just siphon off our money.

If you really think some money is needed, issue it out in $10B amounts only and request a vote after the details, full details are given on how the money will be spent ,WHY, and how we will get it back plus the interest of money we have to borrow. Full JAIL terms and confiscated properties if any fraud, past or future including CEO, CFO etc of failed banks or bailed out companies.

Get the rules in NOW! I want jail terms for all involved. NOW.
NO Pardons for anyone. If BUSH or anyone is guilty, JAIL them at hard labor.

Thank You

It's time to stand up and do the right thing for once. You are elected in and you can be voted out. What will history say about you!

Please don't rely on trickle-down economics. This doesn't work, it just helps the rich get richer. The people who need tax cuts are the poor and middle-class people, not the billionaires. If anyone should pay for a Wall Street bailout, it should be the super-rich CEOs who made the most money off of Wall Street.

Why did you listen to the criminals that caused the failure of our economy?

You people seem to get dumber and dumber as time goes by.

How can our Congress be so foolish, so naive, and so corrupt, as to give even more money to the same people who ruined our entire economy, and have dragged the entire world down with us? How can they hire the same incompetent and/or corrupt people (the ex-employees of the failed financial companies) to manage the bail-out, handing hundreds of billions of our hard-earned tax dollars to their own friends and colleagues? This is madness.

THE BAILOUT WILL NOT HELP THE ORDINARY PERSON WHO WILL PAY FOR IT

The overtaxed taxpayer should not be made to pay for these bailouts of wall street. That's exactly what will happen if the government bails them out!

Elections are coming up and we need to research who is for 99% Americans who live on Main St..
This was not a "bail out", that would have helped and been for Mian St., it is a "buy out" to screw Main St.. Once again the Rich and Greedy got what they wanted.
I feel I am a well informed voter. I study our leaders who is and who is not. We need to get these bastards out of Washington. I am tired of who is to blame.. Everyone is. Lets move on from this and do what is right for America.
Instead of talking about change lets stand up and take back our constitutional and civil rights.
Say NO to greedy Bush, his administators, and the big companies "dictatorship".
Give us back our "FREEDOM".

I am tired of my government officials rewarding behavior of the greediest individuals on the planet. the middle class is becoming poorer everyday. I have been out of a job for 9 months and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight, but we have money to pay off debits of banks that have made billions. Maybe people would be able to keep their homes if our government would not have given tax credits to corporations sending our jobs overseas. How can we pay our mortgages when we don't have jobs........something better change soon as the American people are running out of patience. It's time to stop this crap.

If any bail out is passed, it needs strict oversight, funds can not be used for pension plans, salaries, benefits, bonuses and lobby activities. Items purchased by the government should not be purchased at inflated costs. Regulations need to be place so that this type of behavior will not continue. To say that it will not happen or is not happening is not reality. Tax breaks for the wealthy need to be ended. Everyone needs to be part of the solution not just the shrinking middle class and the ever expanding poor. If a recession is to be lessened, then funds and laws need to be place to help home buyers save their homes. Funds need to directed to help the unemployed and develop jobs. Not just low wage jobs. Our nation needs good jobs.

It is an outrage that the Senate passed a clone of the President's proposal. Please do not do the same. We need good solutions not money going into a black hole.
