Now is the time for a comprehensive system to improve care quality and make our health care system finally work for all of us.This is a wise Bill to Pass, please support it--Thank You,very much !!! ********** [004249:081706] R.G., Palo Alto, CA Lack of health care and unaffordable health care is ruining the lives of too many Californians. Please pass SB 840 now. ********** [003637:081706] K.P., Menlo Park, CA SB 840 is vitally important for our state. Too many Californians are uninsured or under insured. Our children and seniors and working poor bear the brunt of our broken health care system. Please support this bill. ********** [102703:091406] L.T., Yorba Linda, CA Please sign this important bill. California is such a large economy and it is shameful that so many Californians don't have health coverage. We need to take care of all of our citizens, not just the ones with money. ********** [205056:091306] R.N., Van Nuys, CA Please do what you know is right for all Californians and support SB 840, the California Health Insurance Reliability Act. ********** [130816:091106] B.R., Los Angeles, CA Please Govenor sign the bill. It would many people who are going without medical insurance. Lives will be touched and care will be given the less fortunate. ********** [141029:090706] D.C., Culver City, CA It is absurd that in a state as wealthy as California, millions of our fellow Californians have no health insurance. People without health insurance delay going to see a doctor until they become so ill they are forced to seek treatment in hospital emergency rooms. Overcrowded emergency rooms are a serious threat to public health and could mean the difference between life and death. Now is the time for a single payer health system. Yes on SB 840! ********** [121856:090706] T.S., Mount Shasta, CA SIGN THIS BILL!!!! The PEOPLE of California elected you to represent US!! Not the insurance companies. Do your job and honor the will and desire of the People. You pledged to do the right thing for the People when you took you oath of office. This is the Right Thing! Thank you. ********** [050743:090706] S.R., Emeryville, CA Does Gov. Schwartzenegger have any respect for the people of California, or does he represent the interests of the wealthy and business class alone, covered over in Hollywood glitter? If he does care at all for the people, then he will sign this bill to grant health care to the citizens of this great state - all the people, not just the ones who can afford to pay premiums. Do we not deserve to have our health insured if we cannot afford it, as millions of Californians cannot? The answer to this question tells anyone whether you see us as brothers and sisters of the one and only God, or as people whose worth is determined by their financial resources. ********** [020133:090706] d.b., Pomona, CA At last some legislation to help all of the citizens of the state. Now it is up to you Governor do something for the people of this State and sign SB 840. You were hired by the citizens of California, not the corporations. Show us you care; unlike your friend W. s ********** [004804:090706] R.L., Los Angeles, CA Dear Govenator, With regard to single payer health care in Calfornia ... Is it business as usual in keeping the insurance companies and their CEO's rich at the expense of everyone else or do you make an enormous humanitarian contribution to the lives of the vast majority of Californians by signing SB 840 Single Payer Health Care? Your peer in Massachusetts didn't make the girlie-man decision. ********** [003523:090706] J.k., Tujunga, CA I am a disabled vetern, and when I became unemployed, we contacted the insurance company for our COBRA rates. Well, there is no way I can afford to pay over $1200.00 per month for medical and dental for a family of four. I have the VA for myself, but the rest of the family will only be covered if in one month the bill will be over $650 before any coverage would cover over and above that charge for any one person. So far we have been healthy, but one accident with no coverage coulld land us in debters prison, and I am sure that is someones plan. ********** [235142:090606] B.A., Stanton, CA This is the people's money that will be spent on the people, and even thpugh it might require "setting up a big bureacracy" as the governor complains, when the people's health and even lives are at stake it is something that can and should be done.Reagan joked that the "deficits are big enough to take care of themselves"-maybe the same philosophy should be applied here. I believe this can be accomplished by cutting out waste in government. ********** [222928:090606] R.M., Palm Desert, CA Health care is exspensive when we do not have it for every one, Give us the single payer plan now. ********** [170144:090606] J.M., Mountain View, CA SB840, the Single Payer Health Care measure should be a no-brainer but for two "concerns". 1. The fear of "government run" anything rather than the market driven wholly inadequate "system" we have now and the claim that it would have enormous cost. 2. The loss of significant profits of insurance companies that are the real cause of our ever-increasing premiums, co-pays, exclusions and uninsured millions including at least 400,000 children. SB 840 would actually cost less than what all of us as individuals, employees and employers and as taxpayers now pay for our present inadequate health care and would cover everyone. How can that be? Simple: profit would not be part of the equation but prevention would be. Is our governor more concerned with the profits of insurance companies than with the health of all Californians? ********** [164900:090606] R.S., Los Angeles, CA The time is now for this bill. Children deserve health care and it won't cost the state billions. ********** [122354:090606] N.M., Novato, CA Please do all you can to pass the new health care legislation. All Americans deserve basic health care. We are paying more than $1000 a month for health care because we are self employed. We can no longer afford this! Thank you. ********** [111229:090606] G.V., Culver City, CA As a business owner and self-employed person I experience directly the unprecedented rise in expenses for health insurance and the limited options available. I understand the burden worries about health coverage places on all businesses and all Californians. All Californians should have equal access to quality health care. Please sign SB 840. ********** [110227:090606] T.B., San Marcos, CA This is not "socialized medicine". It is a safety net for those in California who are under insured or uninsured. Please do not veto this bill. ********** [104501:090606] M.S., Santa Barbara, CA All Californians deserve health care. It's time to take care of our citizens. ********** [002741:090606] R.D., Bradley, CA Our health care system is in dire need of reform. S.B. 840 is an important step in the right direction. ********** [232700:090506] J.P., Oakland, CA Governor Schwarzenegger signing into law SB840 will create a health care system greatly to be wished for by each and every person in California. Not only will it be cheaper for us but will provide us with the best care should we get ill and with all kinds of preventive care as well. It has already been determined that only the first year alone more than $8 billion will be saved by the people of California by this plan. This is a bill that Governor Schwarzenegger should sign if he truly wants to improve the health care situation in this state. ********** [211220:090506] M.H., Glendale, CA Careful, Governor, your true colors are showing. I doubt you'll become Governor again (aside from cheating) if you don't sign this bill because Californians will definitely know where you stand and its not for them. ********** [202827:090506] C.E., San Diego, CA A single payer health care system is needed. Such a system, following a Medicare format, would provide enormous cost-savings, compared to our insurance-based system in combinntion with no health care insurance for a growing number of American citizens. Medicare's overhead/administrative expenses are miniscule in comparison with most managed care health systems and insurance-based health care systems. It is time we stopped trying to apply capitalism, an economic system, to every aspect of our lives, as if it, and only it, went hand in glove with democracy. "The noblest motive is the public good" is the motto engraved on the San Diego County Administration building. When it comes to helping all Americans live their lives in good health, it makes no sense to set up a health care system with the primary goal of profit. ********** [201749:090506] M.T., Sierra Madre, CA Let's keep pushing California forward by signing SB 840 into law! ********** |
