Action pnum437 Last 25 Messages Transmitted Log Stop the Bombing ********** [024837:080206] E.J., Johns Island, SC Please end the carnage and destruction. The leaders of the United States have lost their moral compass, and our nation will pay dearly for what they have allowed Israel to do in Lebanon and Gaza. ********** [145135:090806] M.W., Kennett, MO The good old USA has done enough killing and aiding. The kind of aid we have been giving is the type any country would be glad to do without. You try to SAVE, HELP, FREE, LIBERATE, countries. All that is left is the rubble and a small fraction of the population, that once lived in the country. I just also like to know when are you going to take care of the United States, you pitch your own country to the side just from your greed...You should've never been elected in the first place, I always said it and still say as long as you and the other Republicians stay in office are own country is in for DOOM and you do not care not even a half cent, I say bye bye this fall, there is no way you guys can win again, unless you do one thing and that is STEAL and CHEAT YOUR WAY TO THE WHITEHOUSE,which is really sad from where I stand.NO MORE BOMBING! STOP THE BOMBING! STOP THE KILLING! STOP THE MASS MURDERING! ********** [185414:082806] J.F., Rathdrum, ID Stop the Bombing! The good old USA has done enough killing and aiding. The kind of aid we have been giving is the type any country would be glad to do wihout. You try to SAVE, HELP, FREE, LIBERATE, countries. All that is left is the rubble and a small fraction of the population, PEOPLE, that once lived in the country. Are we liberating their livestock, the insects and the birds because that is about all that will survive. If everything doesn't die in the bombing, the DU will finish what survives in time. Maybe we are liberating the insects! When did we decide to commit genocide on countries or to aid countries commiting genocide? NO MORE BOMBING! STOP THE BOMBING! STOP THE KILLING! STOP THE MASS MURDERING! ********** [205414:081406] L.B., Denham Springs, LA As your constituent, I urge you to help stop the alarming, and deadly aggression of Israel against the Lebanese people. Yes, it is the innocent Lebanese people who are suffering the brunt of this deadly action of Israel. Innocent Israelies are also suffering. Work toward the disarmament of both sides, both Hezbollah and Israel. There is no other action that is feasible. ********** [214257:081306] C.C., Byers, CO H. Res. 921 passed the U. S. House on July 20, by a vote of 410-8. This measure expressed unconditional support of "Israel's right to defend itself". The ghastly extent of what Israel has done, and continues to do, is just beginning to peek through our propaganda-based corporate media. Israel is in the process of destroying the entire infrastructure in southern Lebanon and creating 500,000 refugees. A "humanitarian disaster" in the making and we idly sit on our hands. As civilian deaths mount, the estimated property damage is already in the billions. Congress must not support the killing of innocent civilians in Lebanon! ********** [131204:081306] W.W., Buffalo, NY The recent bill and statements supporting Israel (e.g. "we are all Israelis") bombing of Lebanon is a travesty, and all who support this have made yourselves complicit in the murder of civilians and in the brutality and massacre by a powerful state, Israel, against civilians of a weak republic, Lebanon. Israel is not innocent here. They regularly kidnap and kill civilians in Lebanon. They also occupy Lebanese territory. Hezbollah is not innocent, but can be seen as freedom fighters against invaders and their actions pale in comparison to Israel's. The myth that the existence of the state of Israel is threatened by people in surrounding countries has been a myth for decades. The things threatening Israel is its own desire for possession of lands outside its borders, and it's continuing suppression of Palestinian statehood and it's genocidal treatment of Palestinians. If anything, Israel's disregard for human rights of people in neighboring countries will prove it's undoing, just as South African apartheid proved the downfall of that government. U.S. support of Israeli aggression and terror is also a crime. Anyone continuing to approve the shipping of arms to Israel so that it can continue its crimes against civilians is complicit in these crimes. I feel ashamed of the senators and representatives from New York State who support the Administration and Israel in furthering these crimes, and ask that you seek peace, an end to the aggression by Israel, and end to its suppression of Palestinians, an end to its occupation of foreign lands, and an end to its subversion of peace initiatives by those in neighboring countries. Only then will there be a chance for peace in the Middle East and hopefully a reversal of the hatred middle easterners are feeling towards the United States as they see our support and subsidy for Israeli murders and agression. ********** [072029:081306] E.D., Okeechobee, FL I don't know why we let Israel do what ever they want to people including us. Remember The Liberty? I am quite sure they would like us to forget that one. Only a complete idiot would believe that was not done on purpose. I am sure bombing the Red Cross was also an unfortunate accadent. ********** [235241:081206] J.A., Hilton, NY I am writing to you in opposition to Israel's invasion of the sovereign nation of Lebanon. I find their militant agression towards innocent Lebanese a disgrace to the Western world adn to humanity. Isreal claims to have invaded because of Hezbollah's capture of 2 Israeli soldiers. This is well boyond that. The murder of hundreds of civillians and the displacement of thousands more is more than just an over-reaction to this event. Isreal is using the capture of those soldiers as an excuse to march into Lebanon and flex their muscles for all the Middle East to see. Hezbollah is completely wrong in many of their actions, but none so monstrous as that of Isreal. Therefor, I strongly condemn Isreals agressiveness towards Lebanon, as well as Congress's support of this atrocity against humanity. ********** [224040:081206] A.H., Los Osos, CA The immoral bombing and killing of civilians in Lebanon is quite beyond understanding. I'm sick knowing that my country could have stopped this slaughter of innocent civilians and it did not do so. I'm sick that my Congress has allowed this occur. What is power worth? I pray that my Congress members use Power to impose Peace. ********** [165132:081206] O.F., Nixa, MO You have the power to stop the blood shed in Labanon and also in Iraq. Do you realize the Nazis used to murder civilians whenever one of their own was killed. In my homeland, the Nazis would kill 100 people for every Nazi that was killed. Now, the Israelis are doing the same thing. They kill thousands of civilians because they claim 2 of their soldiers were kidnapped. That is totally illogical. When Timothy McVeigh bombed the federal building in Oklahoma City, did the government attack civilians in his home state? What is happening in Lebanon and the rest of the Middle East is totally senseless. It's a form of imperialism the world has not seen since the Roman Empire. I believe that all those that stand by silently - especially those in positions of power, are bloodguilty. Please stop the massacres and untold suffering. Olga Flowers ********** [012731:081206] D.M., Collinsville, IL HR 921, Israel's right to defend itself, is an immoral bill which shows how deeply this country is biased against Lebanon and Palestine. The media is in on this deception too, always showing the Israeli casualties and condemning those Hizballah terrorists. In actuality, it is Israel that is doing the terrorizing, destroying Lebanon, a beautiful country, with lots of water, which Israel covets. Their reaction to the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers, which was done in reaction to Israel's kidnapping of a civilian doctor and his brother, is all out of proportion. Israel is plainly using the kidnapping of their two soldiers as a pretext to the invasion of Lebanon which had been planned for over a year. Why does this country heavily defend Israel and then use lies and half-truths to back up such a rogue government that exists in Israel? We are already despised arounf the world for our heavy handed tactics. At home, we are being bombarded with media propaganda. What has happened to our love of democracy and freedoms for all peoples? This country has lost its way and is steadily trending into fascism. ********** [142832:081106] A.J., Chicago, IL Israel's attack on Lebanon is aggression, not self-defense. The U.S. should not support this devastating desttruction. We should not ask Hezbollah to lay down its arms, unless we also ask Israel to lay down its arms. I do not want my tax money supporting Israeli aggression. ********** [141109:081106] S.R., Mount Holly, NC I am tired of the wholesale slaughter of civilians in Lebanon and Iraq. I'm tired of the blind support for Israel while they hold 9000 men, women and children in Israelis jails with out charges. It appears that the Bush Regime and Israel is working hand and hand to force our way on the middle east. Israel is racist country that only admits Jews as citizens, any non-Jew can not be a citizen of Israel. They are racist and it is reflected in their treatment of the surrounding Arabs. I will be voting a straight Democratic ticket come November because Congress has not fulfilled its duties to provide checks and balances on the Executive Branch. I'm sicken that legislation is being worked on to prevent any one guilty of war crimes since 911 from being prosecuted. I truly believe America is now a fascist state. ********** [215516:081006] J.N., Saint Paul, MN Firstly, I would like to condemn the loss of life in Lebanon, Palestine and Isreal. However, there needs to be a cease fire right away. The United States cannot only support Isreal and their so called plan to take out Hezbollah. The United States needs to take a more central view on the situation and value all innocent lives involved. I believe everyone has the right to live and exist. I don't believe that killing innocent people to route out Hezbollah is the right way to employ our foreign policy. Both the United States and Isreal need to re evaluate their foreign policy and I believe that will start to make a difference because I believe that is a huge problem. Secondly, I watched all the UN meetings on c-span and Isreal's UN ambassador only cares about his agenda and his people. I listened as he said, " Well we sent them flyers and told them to leave and we aloud foreign aid to get through for a short time period." Sorry if someone had said that to me in my country I would have taken up arms against them also. Every country has the right to defend itself. No matter what country you live in. Isreal also uses extremely disproportionate force and are making the Lebanese people pay for what Hezbollah has or hasn't done. Also, I believe that Isreal over states their so called intelligence regarding Hezbollah how else could they have hit the UN building. Just as the United States has created more terrorists in Iraq and Ahfganistan, Isreal is creating more in Lebanon and Palestine. Its like they are taking a page out of the United States book to unilateral force oops I mean the coalition of the willing haha. Also, Isreal needs to stop their aggression against other countries. They claim they are always innocent. I'm sorry but all sides are wrong especially when it involves the loss of innocent lives. We need to remember that we are all human beings who deserve to live in peace. I would like to note also that Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization. That is just Isreal's political jargan to villify a group of people who are against Isreals aggression. ********** [205653:081006] t.g., Tucson, AZ war is never a solution, hundreds of people are dying- and will continue to die everyday until this senseless violence stops. ********** [200139:081006] c.w., Santa Monica, CA I think we should put the basic human right to life above politics and other selfish motivations. ********** [195743:081006] J.B., Arlington, TX The U.S. is creating more enemies everyday that we are in the Middle East. . . EVERYDAY!! We need a cease-fire in Lebanon today as we are linked with Israel. We need to mind our own business and stop telling others that we know what's best for them. Oh, of course, we are a superpower, but that doesn't help at all, because the enemy doesn't need a military unit to destroy us. Please stop this Administration now before it becomes a nuclear war and our planet is destroyed. I'm writing this as I am watching the ABC's special on today's events, Aug 10, with 5 of the leaders of the "Terrorists Plot" at-large. and big gaps on the safety on our airliners. Now is the time for you to think of our safety instead of just Republican politics. We need to get out of Iraq NOW! ********** [162420:081006] M.S., Fort Collins, CO I believe the media has deceived the American public when it promotes Israeli "defensive" policies. The Arab/Israeli conflict has more than a 4 week history! Please call for an immediate ceasefire. Let the media know that Americans want more transparency regarding Israeli's aggression against their Arab nieghbors. ********** [133117:081006] F.M., Chicago, IL The daily carnage both ways between Israel and the Hezbollah and the Iraqi insurgents and the US troops is hastening the Armageddon that the Christian Right dream of nightly. We have to return to modicum of sanity before we reach the tipping point. ********** [131844:081006] C.G., Eugene, OR Israel continues to occupy Palestianian, Syrian, and Lebanese land stolen in the 1968 War. Israel continues to defraud Palestinians of their land and to hold prisoner thousands of Palestinians who have fought against Israeli theft and aggression. The members of the UN, with the notorious exception of the United States, have continuously condemned Israel's fraud and aggression in Palestine. Hezbollah, in response to the continuing aggression and fraudulent appropriation of land, kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and killed three. In response to this relatively minor incident, Israel began bombing Lebanon on a massive scale, making little effort to prevent civilian casualties. Israel responded with reckless and atrocious aggression, even surpassing that which it uses in Palestine to stop the uprisings of those whose land has been taken militarily in 1968 or through fraudulent legal means thereafter. Hezbollah has been forced to stand up to Israel's bombing of Lebanon by firing rockets into Israel. Israel has wantonly created a humanitarian crisis. I call on you to do what you can to stop Israeli bombing NOW. Hezbollah cannot stop firing rockets until Israel stops bombing. I call on you to call for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon, the return of the Golan Heights and Shebaa farms to their rightful owners, the withdrawal of Israeli "settlers" from occupied Palestine, and the return of fraudulently appropriated land to its rightful Palestinian owners. ********** [191659:080906] A.M., New York, NY Could we give peace a chance? Could we stop this non sense? You have the power of making policies. Please use it and stop war for once and for all. ********** [162159:080906] A.M., Boulder, CO How many masses of innocent human beings need to be murdered by Israeli bombs before a cease fire is demanded? Israel is the one who needs to be stopped. They dropped the first bombs and are massacreing innocent civilians and refuse to stop. Why should Hezbollah agree to being disarmed when Lebonnon is being attacked by Israel? All murder is wrong and as a Jew I would like to demand that this anti-semmitism (anti-Arab) sentiment must stop now. Israel needs to stop preteneding to be the victum as an excuse to victumize others immediately. Anti-Jewish feeling are being strengthened by Israel's abhorrent behavior. ********** [135024:080906] S.B., Providence, RI As your constituent, I urge you to call for an immediate cease-fire to the current conflict in Lebanon. Allowing warfare to continue in this region only creates innocent casualties and breeds hatred, it is not a route towards peace. ********** [134624:080906] P.G., San Diego, CA Watch the murderous criminal immoral attacks by Israel that our government has condoned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogiSMfjOrk0 The U.S. Senate and Congress are equally war criminals when they do not denounce and condemn these actions by a thuggish terrorist nation known as Israel. Our nation already has MUCH to attone for. I call on real Americans to stop the atrocities and to stop this abysmal foreign policy that turns a blind eye to state-sponsored terrorism, death, and destruction of a sovereign nation and of innocent CIVILIANS! The wanton destruction of Lebanon MUST STOP! ********** [104459:080906] a.z., Saint Louis, MO The american people know the violence is being spread on purpose in the middle east to further the agenda to control the middle east. Israel has no intention to stop their Hitler like attacks on innocent people. There is a big need to control the eastern ports of the mediteranean and to occupy Lebanon. I also see this as a way to try to get Syria and Iran into the conflict. This fighting must stop immediately if there is any chance for a stable middle east. ********** |
