I like singlepayer but reform must pass with or without everything we want. Patchwork corrections later. Comprehensive reform.

This is a GOP attempt to fracture the their political adversaries. Here's how it works: by voting against ANY Democratic bill as the party of "no" Republicans force consensus among US Blues, opening ideology gaps within our party, the gaps must be compensated by watering down bills' intent so America perceives the legislation as inneffective. With public opinion dropping below 50% for Dems and 30% for Repugnicans, they hope to have fewer than 13% (that's not a typo) of all registered voters casting ballots in November's congressional races, leading to substantial gains. Make no mistake, this is '94, only worse!

Please cut the bull, you've bent into a pretzel trying to kill single payer and at the same time trying to mandate buy policies from the very companies that are the center of the problem. Do you think they might try to work this situation to their advantage? Do you think the Republicans won't show sad Republicans that "can't afford this new government intrusion"? Current situation= lose-lose for the Democrats.

I pray that you 'elected' representatives and senators could show a little mettle and truly represent us- the people who put you in your position of power. If your greed wins out , we all lose. Give us single payer NOW!

Sincerely, Robert Grady

PS- 1-investigate 9/11/01

Single payer is the only sensible way to go. As things look now, the insurance companies will have been given a bonanza and the controls on them will be minimal. The credit card hikes and increases in drug costs is a forecast for what will happen with health insurance rates. Please vote for what every other industrialized nations already have.
Respectfully,
Barbara C.Wilson

Support the single payer advocates. Alterntively, get the strongest public option possible. We need to control costs, even at the expense of the insurance companies (especially at their expense).

I am a partially disabled veteran, and want all Americans to have health care as good as the VA gives me--it is excellent.

Single payer health insurance is vital to the economic health of this country!

The only true reform of our shamefule, third world health care system is to pass a single payer plan for the entire nation. The state opt out plan only delays it more. No civilized nation should allow corporations to profit on human suffering! Health insurance companies have no place in our health care.

Single payer is the only way to accomplish a reform of health care. It will cover those not now covered, it will keep a lid on insurance company costs, it will open up competition and it will be fiscally responsible.

Anything short of single payer is not what the American people expect their representatives to pass on their behalf.

If states are allowed to offer single payer healthcare individually, in time it will be implemented nationally.

If Congress cannot pass real health care (not insurance)reform now, when will it be able to?

Do it well now!

And the only way to truly reform our third-world health care system is to pass a SINGLE-PAYER plan across the ENTIRE nation, NOT state by state! Allowing states to do it or not do it is only a chaotic way of denying certain citizens equal rights! And including a trigger would just be the coward's way of allowing Republicans to stall it until they're back in power, when they can kill reform for another several decades.

Please pass universal, single-payer health care NOW -- WITHOUT any triggers and WITHOUT allowing states to opt out! Please GET IT DONE!

Thank you!

I waNT SINGLE PAYER not a Republican bill. They are pure evil and I don't trust them. The Dems could be dupping us too. Actions speak louder than words.
