End The Afghanistan Occupation

I believe that this conflict will end up like Vietnam. It lasted for around a decade and several presidents passed it on the the next president becuase no one wanted to admit that it was a failure. We have soldiers who are being prosecuted for murder, mutilations and rape. We have had soldiers prosecuted for torture. That should tell us something about how much this war has gone off track. We lack focus. We lack honest leadership who can keep us focused. It is time to take a closer look at the reealities of this war. Sun Tzu wrote that some wars shouldn't be fought. He also wrote that no nation has survived long on a permanent war footing. I submit that we are on a permanent war footing and it is pushing us into record deficit spending that has increased our national debt and benefits war profiteers at the expense of giving China more power over us.

It's high time to end these wars-for-profit... Greed is a disease and people not infected are dying...

Why were we there in the first place? To stop the Taliban? We haven't even come close yet. Leave the Afghans alone!

There is no way to justify the continuation of this war. Our soldiers are dying, and even they don't know why. Fix the economy (think how much money you will save by ending the war) and generate jobs for them to have when they come home as well as the countless unemployed we already have. We, as a nation, are looking REALLY bad!

Enough of these completely illegal wars of aggression ("the supreme international crime")! They are a war crime in and of themselves, and, because they are totally unconstitutional and otherwise illegal under other U.S. law(s), and international law(s) and treaties, every act of war carried out in those wars are also war crimes. In addition, they are crimes against the peace, and crimes against humanity. End the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq NOW! This is what the majority of the American people want, and it is what our Constitution and other laws demand! Therefore, stop violating the Constitution and TRULY do the will of the People!

What exactly is the point in our being in Afganistan? No, really, what is the point? So our defense contractors can get richer killing Afgani innocents and our youngsters? Ok, now I get it...9 years and we haven't even eradicated the poppy fields, YET we put sick people in jail for legally (in their state) smoking pot. Explain that one please. If any of you dear (guffaw) politicians bother to respond, please NO form letters.

We have NO national security interest in occupying so many countries in the Middle East. Quite the contrary, it just makes us more insecure and unsafe by breeding hatred and revenge for America's military arrogance all over the world. If the Cheney/Bush administration had not been so indifferently asleep at the switch the 9/11 attacks could have easily been prevented. By their own admission all they had to do was "connect the dots". Occupying Afghanistan does nothing to advance that mission.

It's hard to be appropriately respectful and use good taste to decry our governments constant war mongering and killing of innocent people all over the world....But please, pretty please, would you stop using my money to kill and dominate the world and it's resources?

Endless war=more deaths, destruction, deep debt and retribution. Fund human need--NOT WAR and GREED! (Bail out the homeless, not the banks) Do we want our tax dollars to care and cure or to kill and maim? How dare U.S. troops murder and slander Iraqis while the whistleblower will be the only person punished by the Pentagon! Wake up, folks!

We are sinking into a morass in Afghanistan that makes Vietnam seem like a mild military action. Bring out troops home now and spend those dollars-for-violence on improving education, roads, services. One suicide per day last month in the army is data enough to prove we are destroying those we send to destroy others!

In the article printed in Rolling Stone Magazine, We were allowed to see the deeper conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is probably the longest fight in U.S. history. The fight between those fighting for their lives and those fighting for political power. The common loser throughout our history has been the soldier and sailor and the citizen who thinks they have been supporting their hopes and home by supporting those in political power. I personally pray for the day when the soldier, the sailor and the citizen stop supporting those in political power by no longer giving their hearts, their minds or their lives and money to the politically power hungry whose apatites can never be assuaged.

There is no point in staying in Afghanistan. Please bring those troops home.

Our heavy presence leads to more corruption, wealth only to the corrupt wealthy, resentment, terrorist recruitment, civilian deaths, and huge cost to American taxpayers. Stop this insanity. It is a gigantic lose-lose situation for all.

we cannot continue to kill in the name of peace

As it was already suggested by Greg Mortenson in his Stones into Schools book, let us promote peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan with books rather than bombs. This approach will require more time and patience, but it will be considerably more charitable, less expensive, and it will empower people to solve their own problems.

It costs a lot less money to help people than it does to hurt them.

It is way past time for us to get out of Afganistan and stop meddling in Islamic affairs. It is time to address unemployment in this country.

Every argument made to justify the war in Afghanistan is identical to those made in Iraq. We now know that the Iraq war was a mistake. So why do we continue the mistake in Afghanistan? This war must end immediately. Bring our brave soldiers home and use the funding for something positive in the U.S.

NO MORE WARS!!!!! Get us out NOW! As you may be noticing, we that are fed up with the federal government's performance are doing everything we can to NOT return any of you to Washington. How come when someone (McChrystal) that has been int he thick of the war tells you the thruth, you ignore his advice. This shows either stupidity or mental health problems. You ignore the common person for your corporate sponsors at your peril. We see it and will do something about it. You congress critters will probably not like it though. You can't win in the long run! Give it up!
