Political speech is being repressed everywhere in this country. The internet is the last bastion of getting information out about what is happening in our country. Obviously there are those who will do anything to suppress it. Are we to be a Third World country? End these attempts at suppression of information and save the internet.

So, now we have to PAY FOR FREE SPEECH?! We are constantly amazed at the insistence in toying around with what works and coming up with ruining that which you are trying to save. Often, it is attempted because some huge corporation isn't squeezing every last cent out of the paying public. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. SOPA needs scrapping.

At the very least, have top experts make the assessments and/or provide JOBS so that folks can afford whatever they're selling. This is really an unnecessary effort compared to our infrastructure.

Stop allowing our government to favor Sociopathic Corporatism rather than Merit-based Capitalism. Thank you.

SOPA is bad legislation that demands immediate rejection.

Please defend my right of free speech. SOPA criminalizes innocent behavior. Do not sign on to this bill which further erodes my rights as a citizen.

SOPA should be junked and a responsible bill written. This will destroy legitimate small business startups that are critical to our economy and jobs.

corporate interests are not nessisarily citizens interests. The Goverment needs to "take responsibility at least as much as individual citizens" Now it seems the goverment cannot not see its higher purpose over capitalism.

Free speech is what sets us apart from many other countries and I feel that we need to embrace that ability!

one more reason the republicans need to be voted out, now.

The thud of the jackboots can not be allowed to overwhelm the voice of the people in our democracy. Corporations are not people and their rights are derived from the laws enacted by the people: Their interests can not be allowed to override the voices and the rights of the real people. To do so is treasonous and is no different than any other terrorist action against the real people of this nation.

Junk SOPA! Re-write, please!

Please find internet experts to help you write a bill that will not destroy the value of the internet, as the SOPA and IP bill will, (and take our freedoms away from us).Show some intelligence, you know Congress is not knowledgeable enough to write an intellligent bill to protect the artistic and creative rights without destroying the internet's value.

SOPA is so poorly written and vague in its definitions that it would potentially criminalize innocent behavior, an open door to selective prosecutions. Worse yet, it would give single troll complainers the power to completely and unilaterally shut down websites on false accusations, and force those sites to engage in lengthy legal battles to restore themselves. It would take an ax to the roots of the internet to try to deal with a problem up in the branches.

Even those who originally supported the concept of SOPA are appalled at the blunderbuss tactics of the bill as presented, and Congress must go back to the drawing board, with the input of those who really know how the internet works, to come up with a bill that will not do more harm than good.

Sopa is a form of relinquishing our rights, as far as I see it. Please, let us manage our security justly. It can be done, please help us.

Cheney and Rumsfeld both should spend time in jail ... and will if they are caught outside this country by those other countries that seek to arrest them for their crimes.

We need to create a safe and honest internet that does not steal individual property rights. We need to protect the consumer from fraud and predatory behavior. The ethics and morals we have in the real world should reflect what we set up in the virtual world in order to have a free internet.

Leave well enough alone. Another infraction on freedom, liberties and rights by corporate contolled congress is certainly not in the best interest of our citizens, our country, nor the world at large. Seems every bill introduced in Congress in the last 3 years, is something against people, rather than for people.

When did exorcising our Constitutional right to Freedom of Speech become a felony? SOPA and PIPA would do just that!

DUMP THE SOPA AND PIPA BILLS!

Do NOT vote for SOPA. Just one more way of making government bigger for the good of the few (with Money lobbists).

PLEASE do not let this bill pass!! It will destroy the internet as we know it and the government will have too much control!! They should not have the right to choose what we the people can and cannot see and do online!!

I oppose these bills as written because the contain unacceptable, unreasonable restrictions on our free-speech and privacy rights. So they must be rewritten.

But they must be rewritten narrowly to ensure the constitutional right of artists, musicians, writers, photographers, designers and other creative professionals to protect their work from theft and unauthorized use in all media, including the Internet.

As you know, Congress has the constitutional power to provide time-limited copyright and patent protections. I expect you to consider that responsibility carefully as you protect the free-speech rights of Americans.

Let's be clear: There is value to be had in protecting intellectual property rights. That said SOPA and IP Protect bills are both so vaguely written and fraught with potential for abuse that they are incapable of achieving this objective--all the while potentially causing irreparable alterations to the global internet upon which hundreds of millions of individuals and businesses rely. They would enable a handful of corporations unilateral authorization to terminate websites on false accusations according to their own narrow agendas. Congress has neither the technical expertise nor right to meddle and impose internet censorship which would cripple both business and civil liberties. We, the world-wide 99%, won't tolerate it. Acceptable solutions are available.

SOPA would hand oversight of Freedom of Speech to private corporations, in direct conflict with the Constitutional rights of ordinary American citizens, and to the benefit only of the oligarchs who continually seek to contravene the democratic process on which this country is based.
