RAPE IS A HORRIBLE, HORRIFYING CRIME. NO WOMAN SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIVE WITH THE PAIN OF THIS TERRIBLE CRIME FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE BY BEARING A CHILD SHE DID NOT WANT, THAT WAS FORCED UPON HER.

Mr Mourdock rape is not something God intended, either is incest. God gives us a gift of free will, where sick people make sick choices, rape is control over a person to dominate their desires on to someone by force in most cases!

This should not even be an issue, it is just sick.

I believe it is every woman's right to choose whether to have an abortion or not, especially if rape or incest have resulted in a pregnancy.

Those who seek to control others are Fascists. Self-control is the only control I support.

Where are the testimonials from women who have been raped? Where is the news coverage for them? Who is listening, and representing their voices? And, what of the men who feel it is their "right" to violate women? Ah, yes, it appears we are heading back into the Dark Ages. What's next, burning at the stake? God's will, indeed!

I support a woman's right to choose. I know a family now. Three toddlers and a fourth on the way. Fortunately the father is living with the mother and children. He is unemployed and unlikely to get a job in this economy with his lack of job skills, job history and seemingly little understanding of how to present himself to an employer in the most positive way. The mother was working at a minimum wage job for 3 months...until she got fired. In her efforts to protect herself from what she perceived as ego threats she lashed out verbally at fellow employees and was fired on the spot. She is largely uneducated and has the same job future as her children's father. She expressed great concern to me when she was fired, naturally thinking immediately of the future of her children and yes, her unborn child. Those who want to demand that she give birth to this child don't seem to care that the child stands little hope of happiness, success or maybe even a full belly. But this is the mother's choice. She will have the baby. Others should have the option of deciding whether or not bringing another child into a risky future.

Politicians and the government need to stay out of people's prviate personal issues such as pregnancy and religion. Separation of church and state!!!

I have heard some STUPID statements regarding Rape, but this is one of the most absurd. God wants a woman to suffer being raped and then be denied her right to the decision as to whether to terminate any resulting pregnancy.

We absolutely and completely affirm our right to sovereignty over our own bodies. The government has NO constitutional or other authority to impose forced pregnancy on us, REGARDLESS of personal religious or other ideological persuasion or belief. We demand that our representatives support and protect a woman's right to chose if and when she will become pregnant and bear a child. A woman's life is sacred and sacrosanct. An embryo is an indivisable part of the mother, completely dependent on the mother, and therefore not a separate being. Therefore, every women must decide for herself how she will care for her body and her Self. This is our democratic right and obligation. We strongly, categorically, and specifically refute and refuse any government intrusion and coercion into and over our sacred bodies and lives.

We must continue to stand behind (or in front) for the rights of women to choose their own path when pregnant. We do not have to agree with that choice but we must believe in the freedom of choice. This is a health, economic and very personal decision for any woman.

Claims that rape "can't" cause pregnancy forget a few facts:
Few rapists know when a woman is fertile.
(If one does guess correctly he may attack anyway.)
But most of them cannot even guess.

Take away men's rights as victim's of egregious crimes against their person and non of these issues would ever arise...

If these lunatics were raped and had to have the babies they are forcing on women things would be different. They are hypocrites and hate consumes them.

All of these Republicans who believe that abortion is never acceptable, even in the case of rape, incest for saving the mother's life or that such a pregnancy is God's will, really upset me. I do not believe that many women choose abortion lightly. I have always believed in choice because I believe that children have the right to be wanted. When I was studying to be a teacher, I read too many stories about what can happen to unwanted children, they can be starved, beaten and abused in ways that don't bear thinking about.
Although these Republicans are quick to say that these children must be born, I don't notice them passing legislation to pay for the medical care for these unwanted children. In addition, I also notice that most of them don't adopt any of these unwanted children. Apparently, once they are born, they forget that they even exist.

We are living in the 21st century (most of us anyway) and not hundreds of years ago.

The comments from these congressmen are heiniously insidious and malignantly spiteful..They are NOT true men, and I feel, they are AFRAID OF THE POWER OF WOMEN..They, would, too, rape, to get their "point" across..a--holes that they are!

It is unconscionable that ANYONE would think that they could override another person's right to make ANY choices for themselves. That there are so many insecure and might I add homophobic men in this world is still mind boggling in this century. Furthermore, I respect any individuals right to worship in the manner they chose but it is just that, a right, not an invitation to insist that others live by their beliefs.
Where are all the honorable and hard working women in this country?

I am anti-abortion, having said that I truly do not believe that I can judge when a woman may need an abortion, that is up to herself, her doctors, and her conscience. My opinion is my own and I don't believe ANY male, especially any male politician, can judge for anyone outside themselves what any person can do with their own body. Next politicians will tell us we can't remove a tumor because it was given to us by GOD. Please ALL politicians, get us jobs, protect our country, help to provide us with healthcare, help the needy, but keep your big noses out of our personal health issues, it's not your call or your business.

I don't believe that procreation trumps all other human virtues. If it did "underage girls" would be an oxymoron. Pseudo-religious pulpit prestidigitators who blame the victims of rape, such as Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan. in the name of God as in " something that God intended to happen" are, themselves, sacrilegious and defiling the spirit of religion and mankind's ascent through the centuries. They have no place in civilized society's discourse.

I cannot fathom why these men want to exert total and absolute control over women's bodies. Could it be that they hate women, or merely hold them in contempt (except as objects of procreation)?
