We can save civilization on Earth if we stop using fossil fuels now! Do it!

We need to move IMMEDIATELY towards complete cessation of all fossil fuel burning with a Manhattan Project level acceleration of development of carbon neutral energy technologies. Or we can continue to fiddle while the planet continues to burn.

Think the acid rain, totally polluted, unsettled ecosystem from BLADERUNNER can't happen here? Think again. Please realize that ALL LIFE ON EARTH includes you and act appropriately to save not only yourself but all the inhabitants (your progeny included) of our still sustaining-life planet Earth.

We just have to move the entire US population to the Arctic area so we can all be safe and can enjoy summer cruises. Has every one already forgotten The very unusual, severe weather our country has suffered this year?

The time has come for our elected representatives to choose. Will you stand up with "We the People" and clean energy solutions? Or will you sit down with the fossil full industries that are destroying our planet and our quality of life?

Calculating how to make money -- from the great distress of the natural world! Scheming how to cash in -- on a global crisis that will gradually inundate cities, cause massive disruptions in patterns of weather, animal migration, seasonal changes, agriculture, food supply and human health! THIS IS BORDERLINE INSANE!

We can do this. The only reason we aren't putting in our best effort is that big oil has too much to gain by selling a public resource to the public. Oil companies should be public servants, selling oil at the cost of production, not at a profit. They use the profits to line their pockets very deeply and to do the same through Congress by bribing...do we say lobbying?...Congress to stop any legislation that threatens their empire. I am outraged at a government that allows... no, encourages and profits from, this criminal activity made legal by their own legislation.
We'll be known for this, whether it's the salvation of the planet or its destruction.

Climate Change has already been responsible for extreme weather events that have taken the lives of children, adults and wildlife, and in addition cost huge sums of money. The sooner we address this problem, the better!

THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST DANGEROUS THREAT TO OUR CIVILIZATION. I HOPE YOU WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

War has NEVER created true peace. We have the job of being peace. No bullies, remember.

It is time we stop treating the planet as an endless resource that we can use in any way that profits the oil companies.

The environment is national security, pollution is treason. Any energy policy that does not move toward a global ban on fossil fuels and nuclear power is unacceptable.

We are killing our future, our children's future, our grandchildren's future by doing nothing to slow and mitigate climate change. Doing nothing is tantamount to holding a gun to our grandchildren's heads and playing Russian Roulette. Our responsibility to them requires us to do ALL we can to protect their future!
Our addiction to fossil fuels is NO excuse! There ARE viable alternatives! Biofuels from everything from algae to hemp are available for us to use, if we only break Big Oil's hold on us. They would cut our CO2 pollution drastically and immediately.
The clock - no, the timebomb! - is ticking, and we MUST do something before we write our grandchildren's epitaph in their own blood! We can save them, and their future, but we must act NOW! No excuse is an acceptable excuse for murder!

The threats presented by climate change become more imminent the longer serious efforts are undertaken to mitigate the root causes. The burning of fossil fuels are the number one cause of climate change and are the obvious place to start in addressing the climate change threat. This country has proven capable of achieving great things when it puts its resources towards solving problems. Special monied interests should not be allowed to keep our country from pursuing activities that are in its citizens' best interests. It is time to take this problem on and do what we can to minimize the impacts that are to befall the nation, the world, and all of its inhabitants. Thank you for your consideration.

Our city's port is now increasing coal and oil exporting through new building of refineries by Tesoro and others to send polluting fossil fuels to China. This is a sad commentary on humans adding more to the existing crisis on our planet.

I have little expectation that this or any action will yield the necessary results, based on previous sad experience and observation. But it is a moral imperative to continue in this losing effort in the vain hope that someday, someone will do what is right rather than do the bidding of Big Oil, Gas and Coal interests.

Coping with the destruction of our environment may well be the most important exigency that present day leislators have had to act upon since the inception of our country's history. If protective measures are not deemed as emergencies that demand quick and decisive action, our law makers will join the emperor of Rome, who fiddled while Rome was burning, as masters of denial in face of a waiting catastrophe. I doubt whether our president and congress wish to be viewed in history in that ocntext.

We can and MUST do this. Oil is the source of war, pollution and the growing wealth gap around the world. We got rid of horse and buggy transportation within 20 years of the automobile's first mass production. We can do it in less, if the politicians will find the will. Let's go with electric cars, and save what little fossil fuel we have left for those vehicles that require that much fuel and power power: jets, big trucks, trains, classic cars, etc.

I've been concerned about global warming since the early 1960s and have watch, each year, as mounting evidence proves human cause and continually increasing catastrophic results. I see the potentially the end of civilization and of our species.

No greater choice has mankind ever faced than this, to let our planet die, leaving no trace of us and every creature now alive on earth, or to take arm against the dying and save it.
