No Unilateral Syria Attack

**********

Dear Mr. President et al, Do not and I repeat do not engage in any further military, paramilitary or disguised action sometimes deemed black ops in Syria or any other nation state. You made it apparent that you had no intentions of rectifying the travesty created by and left by George W. Bush and his band of criminals. Don't you think we've engaged in enough wars? The money that has been wasted feeding the war machine would make life in this country pleasant instead of robbing the poor to feed the rich. We're sick of politicians sending our families to die in distant lands while they and their families sit on their laurels content with bulging pocketbooks. When our troops return they are treated like lepers. Use the power you have for a much needed change for your history book that will be read by millions after you leave office. Do you prefer an "A" or an "F" on your report card?

This is to urge you not to engage in military action in Syria.

The Authorization to Use Military Force should be repeaed.

Attacking Syria, in defiance of the will of the American people and their Congress, and without consulting them or seeking their express approval, is cause for impeaching Obama. I write this in great sorrow, because I voted for Obama.

My credentials - former military wife, mother/mother-in-law to children who've served (and now suffer the effects of PTSD, internal injuries from an explosion, etc.), former resident of the Middle East for decades an an oil company brat. This proposal re Syria is not only suspect re the "information" given to incite the public's support, but our moral high ground in that region disappeared LONG ago (we change sides in those conflicts as often as.. we change our underwear?). NO MORE WAR, whether or not we call the action an official war or not... period.

Dear those who purport to represent citizerns of the US, no more job blackmail. No more wars to make jobs, to feed outdated unsustainable inefficient technologies nor further destruction of the soil, air and life on this planet. NO to war and no to supreme declarations by the congress and executive branch that they can decide the life and death of millions. No to anymore wars of invasion for profit and for domination. And don't try to pull it over with patriotism and wash it in white. the blood drips through.

No sane human would pour more inflammables on a conflagration like the convoluted warfare occurring in Syria, least of all just to "punish" a SINGLE person - ASSAD. Sending missiles would be like sending a mammoth DRONE to discourage Assad and others from using gas, but in the process, MURDER HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS. THAT WOULD BE AN ACT DRIVEN BY overwhelming FEAR, ANGER and a profound sense of PERSONAL INADEQUACY suffered by ALL DECSION-MAKERS WHO SUPPORT SUCH ACTION. Of course, it is reasonable that the US Military would like to protect all the loyal American personnel around the world from retaliation with gas warfare but THIS ACTION WOULD ONLY INVITE MORE RETRIBUTION ON THEM and UPON OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY. Most of our friends in the world are against us on this issue. MUCH is LOST. WHAT is GAINED ? Set Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel aside in this situation.

Iraq and Afghanistan have proven that there is no advantage in going to war. We can only make a difference by using diplomacy. Killing more people does not help us or them. Going to war not only puts our troops in harm's way, but puts the US in a very vulnerable position with other countries. WE DO NOT WANT A WAR AND CERTAINLY NOT A WORLD WAR which is the way it will go if Russia attacks. LOOK AT HISTORY AND SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST. SEE WHAT HAS WORKED AND WHAT HAS NOT WORKED. The main problem is religion and Islam is a religion. It is good news that Egypt is considering removing the Islamic Brotherhood. NO MORE WARS. Find another way.

Quite a few years back, Albert Einstein said: "I know not what weapons will be used in World War III, but I know that World War IV weapons will be sticks and stones."
Those like Obam and McCain wanting to take military action against Syria say that it will not be like Iraq or Afghanistan, that it will be very limited with "no boots on the ground". Well, consider this: Assad warned that military action would lead to and extension of the war. Why? Because this madman might, just might, bomb Turkey and/or Israel in retaliation. He has nothing to lose as I'm sure he has already planned his escape from the country if needed. And as allies to the U.S. with treaties that commit us to help these countries if attacked, what then about "NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND"? I have yet to see such a scenario addressed by Obama, McCain, or anyone else.
Our world is going through a momentous time in the history of mankind ... a time when we are sick of wars and are becoming aware of the consequences of our actions ... a time when we are being given the opportunity to end wars that result in nothing more than the killing of our children and grand-children and people for the benefit of a few ... a time when we can choose a world of Peace and Love or we can choose to destroy the world.
Because I choose a world of Peace and Love, one of unity with all people, I oppose any military action against Syria.

We are a democratic country. Our president does NOT need to feel as if he needs to "save face" to remain honorable. Relying on the democratic process of decision-making is what makes America the ideal. Forgetting that has been our greatest error in the past few decades, leading us into frays without completely analyzing the situations and courting the knowledge and wisdom of others in the world.

Stop spending hundreds of billions of dollars on war and start spending it at home. Our country is broken and we need that money to fix it.

The evidence provided thus far is insufficent for proof along with any such reason of witholding evidence as classified from U.S. citizens. After all, russia just came up with evidence showing the rebels are behind the attack but both since both countries have interests in the region their evidence must be highly scrutinized. We do know that members of the syrian army accounted for a majority of the victims in this attack, that the syrian army has been making recent tactical gains and victories , that this is simple world war 1 technology and that since the rebels backed by a morphed al Queda terrorist group have taken over so much of syria they could conceivibly have seized/found and used these chemical weapons to kill 500+ people(not the inflated 1500+ number given by the anti regime group.)Just a year ago you guys(no offense to our female us politicians) warned us of these weapons getting into the hands of terrorist groups if assad's regime started to crumble. Not to mention the possibilty of Al Queda setting up it's own state inside a post assad regime syria.Everytime you guys go into these countries you replace these tyrants with goverments that are to weak militarily keep out, take out or at least control terrorist groups so you just end up creating knew places worldwide for ql queda to set up training camps(before they were in one country now it's up to seven-your making things worse you need a new strategy or approach) just for the sake of political and or economic control of a region with our tax dollars but with no benefit to the common citizen just to corporations and even then it never ends up as planned as you guys are just losing control of these regions due to your actions.I agree we should punish all users of chemical weapons not excluding the rebels backed by the terrorists that killed our people and wish to keep killing our people. From what we the people have been shown information wise it looks like the rebels or terrorists backing them caused the attack. If you can not show us any evidence that would confirm assads regime using chemical weapons for whatever reason then you can't expect the american people to back any such action. It is imparitive that we only go into syria with a multinational un approved force with certain evidence from 3rd party professionals in this field that finds chemicals were indeed used and all the groups that used them.I will vote for or against you guys according to your actions. sincerely, patric s.ps-as an important side note think of all the money that you are sending to survellance at home and abroad as well as military action worldwide and that a fraction of it could help be used at home to get us out of this main street depression I know most american voters are thinking more about this .

It's time for the United States to become an international team -
player, working with the UN Security Council and the G-20 to
find creative, life-sustaining solutions without military force. We
have no moral credibility regarding chemicals weapons since we
have used Agent Orange, depleted uranium, mustard gas and
white phosphorus in the past. A military strike would endanger
the US people and interests and set off an unpredictable hell in
the Middle East for everyone involved.

No unilateral attack on Syria.
The people have spoken, the
Government needs to take heed.
This is not our responsibility. This
is not our fight. How many lives ??????
How many does it take? NO WAR

All war is illegal under the Kellogg-Briand Pact. Repelling invaders is the only act of war that is not terrorism. Nations that are not being invaded neither need nor deserve militaries.

We are hardly coming from any moral high ground when intervening in yet another civil war. I do not think bombing for a peaceful Syria makes any more sense than it did in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq 1, Iraq 2, Afghanistan and lesser known exploits will have better results.

To Whom it May Concern:

It would be better to arm Syria people and let them deal with their government.
Honestly, how many children did the U.S. strikes kill in Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, and how many will be killed in Syria? Fools and foolishness is how God describes mankind. How do we get a better grade? Kill strikes is not God's way. Or are we not one Nation under God? How will He punish us?

Who will slap our hands? Or worse, how will they attack our children.

We are hard press to take care of issues in the U.S. What makes you think you know how to deal with issues in other parts of the world. You do not listen to the people of the U.S.A. Seems you know little about people.

Sincerely,
Sharon Walker

P.S.
May God help us all.

We do not need to get into another expensive, needless war. Who made America the policeman of the world? Look at what happened with Iraq. They did not provoke us and neither has Syria. NO WAR!

Where were we when Iraq was gassing thier own people at H.W.'s impassioned plea to do so? We were selling them the gas and letting them die. Now you want to take over Syria who killed less people than your own drone program. Aready over 100,000 thousand have been murdered by ordinance and 5 million have fled the country and that's OK with you. Just don't use gas??? Don't continue the same rediculous policies, we are not the world police, we cannot afford to destroy another country while our own is being destroyed from the inside by your financial boys. When will it be time to concentrate on our own countries disastrous financial situation. We do NOT need to try and control Syria. The U.K. will not join us and I pray for peace and hope no one else will help us destroy another country. Where were we when the Rowandan massacre happened, the Congo, all over the world there is civil war. We cannot straighten it out. We had a civil war of our own, should Russia have bombed our country into submission because of it? No, we didn't want interference. The Generals and Haliburton/KBR have to keep the war machine going forward and making obscene profits off the killing of innocents. We've been doing it all over the world since WW II. Prior presidents have warned us about the military industrial complex and the perils of the fed both taking over government. Looks like they were spot on. Sad days for the dying empire.

When you have overwhelming Republican support on something that usually means it's not something that's good for the country. They will always say yes to war. They want to cut all domestic spending because of the deficit but don't seem to care about the deficit if they get a chance to spend on war. Where will the funding come from? ENOUGH. No more military interventions. If we wanted that we could have voted for John McCain or any other Republican.

Stop arming the rebels through the back doors, they have done much more harm to the people of Syria.

Syria poses no known threat to the US or US interests at this time. Until they do, let them resolve their own wars with Allah's help.

Not only should we not go it alone, there should be no boots on the ground and we should set a reasonable limit to the engagement in so far as time and territory.

I urge you to refrain from the implicit support of regieme change in Syria via military support or direct action, I believe this would lead to greater human suffering as the conflict would be further escalated.
