stand up for peace. make the change now, seize the day, the UN can prosecute identified war criminals. we do not have to be war mongers any more. we can be, and are, peace finders and peace keepers. let us learn how, and show others this way of being.

This is an international problem and MUST be solved by the international community. Mr. Obama, YOU were elected in part because YOU believed in diplomacy. What on earth has happened to you?

To: All my Government Representatives

I am very disappointed with our governments logic that bombing Syria is showing the world how to act responsibly. We all know that killing more people in response to the killing that has taken place just escalates the problems.
In my opinion the bombing of Syria just adds to the unsustainable military path we are on. We can NOT continue to protect the economic interests of the elite with CIA trained rebels destabilizing countries that refuse to play our economic games.

Dear President Obama, Senators Udall and Heinrich, and Rep. Lujan,
This is not the time for the US to act alone or unilaterally, yes a horrible injustice has been done, but what right do we as a nation have to step in and take military action against another country when our country has neither been attacked or threatened? Also, despite the accuracy of our weapons, we will be responsible for killing more innocent people in the middle east, and this too must stop. People are not "collateral damage," they are humans with a right to life, no matter their religious or tribal affiliations--the US has caused too many deaths in that region in the last 12 years. It is time we stopped, right now. This is not about 'boots on the ground,' but simply about humanity. This is an opportunity where we can look at ourselves and our role in the world and say, "No more will we be the merchants of death. The military-industrial complex will not run us or our policies any more." Unless and until the whole world says that Assad's regime is responsible for the atrocity of using chemical weapons--beyond a reasonable doubt--and the world says, "We will take action together against this heinous crime," the US must stay away from the use of force. No more bloodshed in our names, no more.
Sincerely,
Daniel Linehan

We ARE NOT the world's police! President Obama I REALLY thought you were going to be different! I voted for you before your 1st term because you said you were going to pull us out of Afghanistan and Iraq! I voted for you for your 2nd term because I thought "he needs a little more time"!! Now you want to start another war!!! I am VERY disappointed, thanks for wasting my time, my tax money and my VOTE!!!!

Why are you wanting to aiding the rebels, who include groups we call terrorists and treat as the enemy in our global war on terror? We the American people ask you to vote NO on yet another war. We are not under attack. We don't want more violence done in our name.

Other nations PLUS our Congress should be negotiating ways to achieve peace.

It has now become clear beyond a reasonable doubt that the US. is the primary party responsible for the terrorism in the GWOT and practically every member of the US Congress is culpable for enabling it to continue. How many more innocent people do you need to see slaughtered before you realize what you have become and the evil you have unleashed on the whole of humanity.

Too sick of the MIC! I really feel for the Syrians, but it wouldn't be the first bait and switch.

I would like the U.S. to be a TEAM PLAYER FOR PEACE and JUSTICE - NOT MORE VIOLENCE and rush to quick judgements before the full scope of evidence in not only in but properly researched. The U.S. should be working to try to foster PEACE together with the full international community, the U.N. members, while adhering to International Law and Ban Ki-moon has already stated that a unilateral strike against Syria at this point in time would violate the U.N. Charter.

Your vote in favor of war, including bombing of Syria, will be automatically translated into my vote against you and in favor of your opponent in the next Democratic primary.

World opinion will certainly turn against us if we enter the fray without international concensus. We will further alienate the few allies we have left in the world. Considering our outstanding, enormous debt, which will, no doubt, eventually cripple our economy, it is just plain foolhardy to even consider starting another military action regardless of the evidence. Killing more people is not the way to resolve this issue. This is a matter for the International Criminal Court to adjudicate, based on factual, verifiable evidence. It's time to move away from the "Have Gun - Will Travel" diplomacy of your predecessor. We should be focusing on, and finding solutions for our myriad problems here at home.
