As a student of history, I see a frightening parallel to Germany in the 1930's.

Trump pledged to uphold and defend the Constitution of The United States of America and for All It Stands. How many other Newly elected/reelected in our Congress have done the same this last election cycle??? Too bad we can't cancel the last election cycle and start from scratch requiring all electees to sign the same pledge/oath - perhaps also requiring this be done openly in each political jurisdiction. You say, oh that would take to long Just how long is it going to take for our government of the people, for the people gets all the messes that trump is making straightened out?

IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS, IT IS TO BE AVOIDED, ESPECIALLY BY HIGHLY PLACED INDIVIDUALS LIKE PRESIDENTS AND THEIR ADVISERS.

More loose cannon Americans have shot and killed Americans on American soil and schools than immigrant Muslims have, to follow Trump's logic we should ban all American's from America?!

Reactivity in the name of protecting us is a poor substitute for thoughtful and skillful action. So far this ban will do much more harm to the country and will poison our friends around the world agains us. We are burning valuable good will via these actions!

"OUR BLESSED COUNTRY" is made up of "IMMIGRANTS"! For one who has constantly uttered
that he loved the USA and wanted to make her "GREAT AGAIN", he sure is doing the "OPPOSITE"!

Our constitutional republic was established in response to King George's tyranny with a system of checks and balances, however, it requires the a citizenry that not only respect the constitution, but revere it. This blatant abuse of power by right-wing extremists and the billionaire class will not stand against the will of the people. Where are the men and women with the duty to stand up to these abuses? Are they asleep at the wheel? Must we as citizens, step out from our roles in the community to defend this great nation and its people from tyranny, or will our leaders step up and meet their obligation to past and future generations of Americans? The world is watching.

The Evangelicial philosophy that Muslims are taking over the world is ridiculous! This country was built on freedom of religion. Please stop this nonsense!

The aim of making America safer is completely contradicted by this action. Antagonizing, displacing, dehumanizing, and causing deep suffering to millions of people, with an overarching sense of religious discrimination, will surely push many to extreme actions. This is a serious recruitment win for terrorist organizations outside the US, and inside. We need a thoughtful president and congress - not what we have now!

As a scientist dedicated to discerning and respecting truth, it pains me that our public discourse has degenerated into lies and propaganda led by such an ignorant fascist buffoon. Please, you must resist this disaster for our democracy at every opportunity.

Stopping Muslim immigration will feed into ISIS propaganda against the US. If Trump doesn't see that, at lease I know reasonable politicians who know how things work WILL see that!!!

Trump's action is not only against American values, but is an asset to ISIS terrorists in their anti-American campaign.

Immigration is not a U. S. problem, it is all these religious zealots that are in the U.S. that want to run the nation and now have obtain the power to do so.

The Countries on trump's ban list: Iran,Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. No attacks in the United States were committed by anyone in these countries. 911 Terrorists Countries of origin: Saudi Arabia 15, United Arab Emirates 2, Egypt 1, Lebanon 1. These countries were not included in the ban, but trump has business interests in these countries. Mr. President do the right thing, divest from your businesses and make your tax returns public. Stop the conflicts of interest.

Your UnAmerican Muslim Ban is backfiring in the US and around the world. It did not come across not as vetting, rather capricious discrimination that happen to exclude the countries that have been the origin of terrorists or have Trump hotels. The experience of Ohio State doctorate student Zandian and his wife attempting to legally visit her husband is one example of the incompetently executed travel ban and its effect.
"NEW YORK - Mohamed Zandian was just a regular guy excited to see his wife.
Zandian, a 24-year-old doctorate student in biochemistry at the Ohio State University, was born in Iran and has been living in the United States since 2014. He had not seen his wife, Parisa Fasihianifard, for months and drove from Columbus, Ohio, on Friday night to pick her up at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
Zandian, who speaks perfect English, arrived at JFK at 8:30 a.m. the next morning with just over an hour to spare before his wife's plane was scheduled to land.
Waiting patiently in the arrival lounge of Terminal 1, over an hour went by without Zandian hearing anything. He began to feel that something was wrong.
Then what started out as excitement turned to horror.
Zandian received a panicked phone call from his wife, who was just out of sight on the other sides of the gates. She had been refused entry into the United States.
Fasihianifard, who lives in Tehran and also studies biochemistry, is being detained inside the airport - with no legal recourse - and will return on a flight Saturday night to Iran.
She is one of many people feeling the sudden impact of President Donald Trump's immigration executive order, which bans 130 million people - and all refugees - from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Iran, from entering the United States under the pretext of keeping the country safe. Trump signed the measure Friday evening. It is already tearing apart families, and no doubt many others will also have to leave the country in turn.
"I am in shock," Zandian said in an interview. "This policy destroys everything good that we thought about the U.S. I too want safety and security for the U.S. But this is not the right way to maintain safety.%u201D
The couple, who met in college and have been married since 2012, are shattered.
%u201CWhen you cannot live with your loved one, then what's the purpose of living somewhere?%u201D Zandian said. %u201CYou cannot enjoy your life.%u201D
Zandian said he had hoped to remain in the United States after getting his doctorate's to teach biochemistry. But not anymore.
%u201CIt's a sad story,%u201D Zandian said. %u201CI will leave this country with a master's instead of a Ph.D. I will seek a future somewhere else because of this policy.%u201D
The ill thought out and executed ban diminishes out country's standing in the eyes of the world as a beacon of democracy that cares about human rights. The ban implementation does not communicate vetting but satisfying racial and religious exclusionary demands that actually threaten security if US citizens at home, abroad and in the armed forces abroad.

Tiffany Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner are both registered to vote in 2 different states. The difference is that unlike most of the rest of us, they are rich enough to jet set from state to state on election day, to vote in more than one state at once.

In fact, he is surrounded by such double registering fraudsters, including Steve Bannon, his radical alt right top advisor, Sean Spicer, his press secretary, and Steve Mnuchin, his mortgage document forger nominee for treasury secretary.

In fact his big expert on voting fraud, Gregg Phillips, who was Trump's source when he retweeted the lie that 3 million people had
voted illegally, is registered to vote in 3, count them, 3 separate states.

So when Kelly-Ann Conway asked rhetorically what everyone is afraid of from an investigation of voting fraud, the one with the most to
fear would seem to be Trump himself.

In the meantime the abuses of power continue to escalate. After being required to promise, by no less than Trump's now nominee for attorney
general, Jeff Sessions, that she would be independent as a condition of being approved for her position in the Justice Department, acting
attorney general Sally Q. Yates was rudely canned for refusing to defend Trump's unconstitutional ban on Muslim immigrants.

It didn't work for Nixon, when he did his Saturday night massacre, but then of course he had not already stacked the judiciary with
pliable quislings.

This dramatically raises the stakes on all judicial appointments going forward, especially the Supreme Court.

Let us remember that in Nazi Germany there were many judges without the basic integrity to resist Hitler's mounting crimes against
humanity, to their eternal shame, and who went along with the will of the dictator. It was sold to them as a Christian theocracy too, you
know.
