Many of the major countries have a sungle payer plan and it works well in spite of false claims to the contrary. We should have a single payer plan.

I would wish that the people would be listened to and not all the corporations that benefit from bills such as this. Please do not allow the Insurance companies to win yet again - with the passage of this bill!

It is utterly ridiculous that the one system that has been PROVEN TO WORK in so many societies just like ours is the one that has not been given a chance to be voted on.

If Democrats want to keep their seats this fall (and I speak as a lifelong Democrat who WILL be switching, with millions of others, to Independent if the Party will not listen to the voices of the large majority of its members), they had better find the courage to follow the voters who put them into office and INCLUDE A STRONG SINGLE PAYER/PUBLIC OPTION choice in any health care bill which is brought to vote.

In SO many areas, my Party has shown a deaf ear to those who elected them. IT WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!!!!

Dear career politicians, Mr. President, Mr. Vice-President, Congressmen/women, and Senators

I am a constituent, and this holiday season, my wish is for health reform.

I don't want a flimsy insurance plan that I can't afford to buy, and I certainly don't want that kind of program made mandatory where I am forced to decide does my family eat or pay insurance premiums for a bad health care program written and backed by the insurance lobby.

What I want for Christmas is H.R. 676 to be approved, and signed into law. This plan is one that you Pat Roberts are currently using for yourself, and if it's good enough for you, it is certainly good enough for me.

I've read this bill H.R.676, and it eliminates the insurance industries meddling with my families health care.

H.R. 676 is Medicare for all: we already pay into it with deductions on each paycheck we earn. It is fully funded already, and working beautifully isn't it Pat Roberts?

Why are you fighting so hard to keep us from getting what we are already paying into. You have chosen this option for your own health care, I want it for my family too...

Sam Brownback if you can manage to show up to vote, the same argument is directed to you.

Quit fighting on behalf of the insurance lobby, and fight on the side of the people you're supposed to be representing when you manage to make it to the Senate floor for a vote.

Yes fellas, I watch you like a hawk, I know when you vote, how you vote and when you don't bother to show up to vote. I'm like Santa, I know if you've been bad or good and am not above letting all your constituents know what you've been up to.

Next election, will you get a lump of coal in your stocking, or a vote of approval?

You'd better start thinking about that!

Lobbyists, put money into your coffers, but there's not enough of them when it comes to voting to win an election.

It's your constitutes that stuff the ballot box with their votes that keep you sitting in that comfortable political chair you occupy.

One more little thing fellas if you think this letter is only going to be read by your staff and trashed, think again, it's on my blog, and Internet wide already!

Let these politicians give up all their own health care benefits...leave them with no taxpayer support in that area...and then let them vote on the matter. The sevant is not greater than the master...or did these "Christian" hypocrates disreguard the words our Lord spoke. If they want to be known as public sevants...then they need to learn what it means to serve the public...rather than serving themselves. Corporate America is not the public that "public service" refers to. "Public service" refers to the flesh and blood entities that elected these leaches to office...and can just as easily vote them out. Keep it up you Washington bumbs...and yes, you will probobly need more police to protect your sorry asses. And then we'll see who has the last laugh.

I am an independant insurance agent currently licensed in the state of WI for life and health. I have been selling private major medical plans and senior care products for over 20 yrs. I just turned 65 in Sept. 2009 and purchased a medicare supplement plan to cover my medical expenses. I now pay $250/ mo for 100% coverage with 0 deductible or copay compared to over $500/mo for limited coverage and a $10000 deductible. I have just had a total hip replacement, which I found out that I have needed for many mos., but could not afford the $10000 deductible or other out-of-pocket costs. I am lucky that I was close to qualifying for Medicare, but what about the many millions of americans who are years away from medicare age and have either absurdly high deductibles or no insurance at all!
I'm out in the trenches and every day I see the atrocities and pathetic results of our current health system. I contract with over 15 major medical companies, each offering 4-6 various
private plans with different deductibles and bells and whistles. They may advertise low premiums, but those are only for the youngest age groups with the most perfect health histories. Most of my prospects can only afford the highest deductibles and many are eliminated because of a pre-existing condition.
Single Payer Health Care might eliminate my job, but, after studying all the alternatives, I have to honestly admit that it is the only fair and equitable way to solve this dilemma and best serve my clients. How could the Senate so summarily sweep it off the table and have some of its proponents arrested
without even a chance to speak out on its behalf. In this crisis we need to seek out all options and have serious discussion on all ideas.
Medicare does work and Single Payer (HR 646) is modeled after that Plan.
I know because I am a benefactor. I am probably going to make enemies of my associates and the insurance industry, but it is time to speak out and not wimp out.
Sincerely,
Wayne F Czypinski

I have a daughter who is 35. She graduated from college while working in a nursing home. She has worked in the health related jobs since and paid her taxes. About 3 years ago she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has recovered enough to go back to work. She has never or seldom made wages above the national poverty level.
With medical costs and the cost of living on her own for a while she has had to file bankruptcy.
She can not get insurance to cover her previous condition.
Please support this bill, or any admendment that will allow working people like her medical economic relief.

Since our country can afford billions to kill people who are no threat to us, we should have medical insurance for all. We have one of the highest infant mortality rate in the industrialized world and you are arguing about the medical bill paying for abortions. My God, what planet are you people on. A dead child is a dead child. We need to put money into a single payer system. A dead child is a dead child and you people are killing them right and left. Here in the states and around the world. Do you really think God sees a difference in a child killed here by abortion or a lack of medical care or a child killed elsewhere?

Without single-payor, the health insurance companies continue to keep exhorbitant profits that will continue to make decent health care available to all.

Our Arizona senators are Republicans who seem to care more about corporations than people - please show us that is NOT true, Senator McCain and Senator Kyl.

Why is Congress and the President tolerating the abomination that is the health insurance industry?
All economies of scale and administrative efficiencies would be realized by expanding Medicare to all Americans, and banning the outrageous bloat that allows private health insurance companies to skim up to 30% of our dollars to pay their executives 400 times what the average American makes, among all the other well documented travesties.

It's hard top believe that you have all stonewalled single payer health insurance. It is the one thing that will work. What does it meant that you won't even allow a discussion of it? You have betrayed us.

To my Congressional Reps. and Senators and all of Congress, I and all Americans deserve to have the same gov't sponsored Health Insurance you have. If you try to use old cliched labels like Socialism to label universal affordable health care then you should label the Military, Police, Fire Departments, Libraries, public schools, roads, bridges, parks like Golden Gate, S.F. or Central Park, N.Y., Sports Stadiums and Arenas in many cities, Congressional salaries and all government paid workers and many more services for the people as Socialism. We are the taxpayers and we deserve t spend some of our taxes on our health care. Give us the same insurance you have. Quit giving our money to the big Wall St. bankers and the Military/Industrial/Medical. Rebuild this country.

A Strong Public Option that Reflects the same Health Care Options that our President, Senate and Congresmen enjoy now must be made abailable to the Populace in an affordibale manner to keep our nation strong.

I'd like to hear more about the single payer health plan, and I'm sure many others would too. What woud it encompass. How would we be involved? What are the benifits, disadvantages? Any information would be appreciated. I'd like a choice.
