Action pnum344 Last 25 Messages Transmitted Log Support Only The Winner Of The Democratic Senate Primary In CT ********** [192021:092806] D.F., Corry, PA This could happen to any seator in the house, please read carefully. So true! While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you." "No problem, just let me in," says the man. "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity." "Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the senator. "I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises... The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him. "Now it's time to visit heaven." So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns. "Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity." The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell." So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. "I don't understand," stammers the senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?" The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning...... Today you voted." ********** [004250:092106] E.F., Far Rockaway, NY I am for Democrats for Democrats, not democrats who run to join as an independant. ********** [153331:092006] T.R., West Palm Beach, FL Joe Lieberman is not a DEm anylonger and should not be supported ********** [100546:081206] F.C., Rehoboth Beach, DE Lieberman needs to have some respect and loyalty for the party that made him the VP candidate! ********** [191310:081006] v.d., Saint Petersburg, FL the shamefull betrayal of joe leiberman, who was sent to represent democrats for 18yr's,just shows that two timing joe wasnt a democrat after all, instead of representing we democrats two timing joe was representing himself, the proof is his leaving the party to run as an independent, shows that joe was two timing democrats all along, with all the kissing up to the republicans,we are better off without two timing joe, thanks for leaving the party joe, were better off without guys like you, now maybe we democrats can finaly be true to ourselves, Jim Donald, St Petersburg Florida. ********** [171022:080906] E.S., Sunnyvale, CA I am catagorically, even vehemently, opposed to the actions of Sen. Joe Lieberman in seeking the Ct. senate seat, which he has lost the right to seek within his party. I feel that the Democratic Party has NOT been Sen. Lieberman's party for some time now. His characterization of loyal Democrats as "these people taking over HIS party" is monumentally arrogant, disingenuous and egregious in the extreme and not worthy of the office, which he will soon lose for the good of all. ********** [172945:080806] D.J., Northridge, CA By the time you get this, the voters will have decided about Joe Lieberman. Whatever the outcome, my disgust at the senator's behavior remains the same. ********** [021849:080106] a.y., Tucson, AZ SUPPORT ONLY THE WINNER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY IN CONNECTICUTT. ********** [135507:073106] B.B., Park Ridge, IL Check your receipts. I'm an ardent backer, both with time and donations: DNC, DCCC, DSCC, various campaigns, state party ... No way do I wish to see our party's members stand with the loser of the primary in an independent bid. If Ned Lamont prevails next Tuesday, August 8, I want to see every Democrat who's proud of our Party stand with him in the effort to hold that seat. ********** [102251:072906] D.N., Midland, TX X Joe Liberman we have enough liers and cheaters and if the Democratic party isn't good enough for him to be loyal to then he doesn't deserve our votes or respect. He couldn't win the first time and now he is trying to screw the rest so please don't let him ruin our party's chances of taking our country back out of the hands of people like bush and joe liberman. ********** [095434:072906] G.R., Henderson, NV Hey joe Lieberman remember all those Marilyn Manson Fans you bashed? Guess what? They CAN VOTE NOW! And they don't support the war in Iraq! ********** [024326:072906] V.B., Los Angeles, CA Senators Feinstein and Boxer: I realize that you will do whatever the Israeli government wants and couldn't care less what I or anybody else thinks about it. But there are limits. Practical limits. ********** [134709:072706] D.M., Sarasota, FL Help the working poor before we all become homeless. Stop big oil and stop insurance corporations from tripling our rates in the name of "storms". ********** [030146:072506] J. ., Warren, MI I am fed up with the Israel Firsters who pretend they are Democrats, but are actually NeoCon Republicans. Enough is Enough. ********** [114707:072406] I.B., Birmingham, AL If Democrats do not support the democratic process, who will?? Mr. Lieberman is not deserving of this loyalty especially now that he has demonstrated a strong lack of loyalty to us the Democrats of this nation. I will be extremely disappointed if the DSCC does not support the legally and democratically elected nominee of the Connecticut Democratic Party. We don't have--or indeed--deserve a prayer if we do not stand together with principle over personality. ********** [061430:072306] M.R., Pensacola, FL It's apparent that some members of Congress think they are entitled to the office till the day they die. Lieberman is one of them and he is one of the most traitorous of the lot. This joker is no Democrat. He's a hard core Bush Republican. He has led a cheering section for the dictator actions of the fool that we have squatting in the office of the presidency. He's cheering because to support the this dictatorship ensures him an office for life. Mr. Lieberman seems to think that no one should ever run against him as long as he wants the office. If the people of CN decide they don't want him, then the Democratic leadership should support the voters, not one slimeball man who has aided and abetted the criminal actions of a dictator wannabe. ********** [035514:072306] B.H., Englewood, CO If you support Lieberman's run as an independent you are voting like a Republican. We'll remember next time you come up for re-election. ********** [111713:072106] J.H., Hollywood, FL Joe Lieberman's nose-thumbing of the Democratic Party by declaring that he will disregard the primary results are insideous. If this man chooses to act as a Republican, he must accept the consequences when the party's voters balk. The Democratic Party must make it plainly clear in no uncertain terms that it will fully support only the selected nominee from its primary and no one else. If we cannot have enough party unity for that, what hope is there for the party at all? ********** [172736:072006] M.M., Portland, OR Sen. Lieberman has made it clear--staying in the U.S. Senate is more important than doing the right thing. Enough! ********** [115340:072006] M.Y., Chicago, IL it's time for Lieberman to go. He no longer effectively represent our party. ********** [080835:071906] T.H., Hamden, CT For at least the last four years Joe Lieberman has betrayed the Democratic Party. If you don't dump him in support of Ned Lamont you will not get one more penny from me in support of "Democratic" Senators. It is time for us to have some real democrats in the Senate not simply people how are seated on one side of the aisle or another. ********** [053231:071906] W.R., Gettysburg, PA Senator Leiberman should be encouraged by the Democratic Party NOT to run as an independent should he lose the primary election. This would probably split the Democratic vote in Connecticut and result in the election of a Republican senator. This would not be in the best interests of the nation!! ********** [094819:071806] R.B., Farmingdale, NY Joe Lieberman: Republican, Big-Business Lover, "US is in the service of Israel" phony. ********** [143340:071706] A.K., Long Beach, CA A Congressman or Senator who votes for Lieberman, the opportunistic hypocrite, , will never receive my vote, never. ********** [135705:071706] d.f., Seattle, WA Democrats should only support the candidate who Democratic voters support in the primary election! Don't forget that Joe Lieberman! ********** |
