The price of gasoline continues to set new records, despite the fact that crude oil prices have dropped somewhat, and despite record windfall profits for the oil companies.

Today, presidential candidate John Edwards called for an investigation of just what's going on with this industry that continues to receive fat subsidies from the public pocketbook.
A wave of oil company mergers has made this already cartel dominated market even less competitive. And the American public is being slowing squeezed to death economically, while the oil companies themselves literally rake in excess trillions. Where will the greed stop? What was the role of the oil companies in colluding in the invasion of Iraq, which created the instability, and the excuse, to massively jack up the price of crude oil in the first place?

Isn't it convenient that the oil companies just never seem to provide for enough refining capacity so that there is an sufficient supply for everyone? Why is it that on the few occasions that they have been called to testify before Congress they were shielded by corrupt members of Congress from testifying under oath? When will we replace cronyism with real oversight? If you need more information to help make a decision, Click here for arguments.
